Khama Billiat travels with Chiefs ahead of Maritzburg United clash on Sunday

Kaizer Chiefs fans could see star man Khama Billiat back in action in their final league game of the year.

Kaizer Chiefs have travelled with their star striker Khama Billiat to Pietermaritzburg, ahead of their clash against Maritzburg United on Sunday.

Amakhosi currently top the PSL log, with a six-point gap between them and Mamelodi Sundowns.  Masandawana snatched a 1-0 win over Polokwane City on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys will remain top of the log, regardless of Sunday’s result, but will be hoping to finish the year – and the decade – on a high.

Chiefs have just the fixture against United to come before the league goes on a short break ahead of the New Year.

Ernst Middendorp will be hoping his side can narrow the gap back to nine points later in the afternoon.

There’s some good news for The Glamour Boys ahead of the match. The club confirmed that  Khama Billiat – who missed out in their last game – joined them for the journey.

Speaking to Chiefs’ official website, Middendorp said, “In terms of personnel, we travelled with Khama Billiat and we will make a decision about his participation… Otherwise we have all areas covered. Most importantly we will respect the opponent, which is part of the game.

“We will see how this goes, but importantly there’s a good vibe in the team and everyone knows their responsibility. It’s not going to be easy, but we have planned very well to compete on the day.”

The match us due to kick off at 15:30 South African time. While Chiefs are firm favourites, their last loss this season (in all competitions) came against Maritzburg United in the League Cup back in November.
