If you’ve been living without the internet for the last six years or so, this article probably isn’t for you. Unless you’ve just gotten your hands on a copy of The Sims 4 for the first time since your internet free life (RIP  your friendships) and you’re wondering about the hospital in The Sims 4.

We’re going to assume if you’re asking this question, you already know what The Sims 4 actually is. So we won’t bore you with those details and we’ll get straight into it. One of the most asked questions relating to the game is: Where is the hospital in The Sims 4?

Hey, don’t scoff. It’s not a silly question. If you’re scoffing then you obviously already know the answer. For you, dear reader, who is desperately wondering what to do now that your Sim is about to have their first baby, fret not. We’ll break it down for you.

If you only have The Sims 4 base game

Then The Sims 4 hospital is what is known as a rabbit hole. That means you can’t actually go to the hospital to witness the birth of your Sim child. At some point during your Sim’s third trimester, they’ll go into labour. In order to send your Sim to the hospital to give birth, you need to place a bassinet in your house. Once you’ve done this, you can select “give birth” or “give birth at hospital”. With the base game, you won’t actually follow your Sim to the hospital, though. If you don’t place the bassinet, your Sim will just give birth on their own eventually.

 If you have The Sims 4 Get To Work expansion

Things get a bit more exciting here. With this expansion, the hospital in The Sims 4 can be visited by your Sims. Sims working in the doctor career pregnant Sims who are in labour (along with one companion). You’ll follow your Sim to the hospital if you select the option to give birth there with this expansion.
