Baroka’s place in the final eight of the competition has been earned thanks to victories over Polokwane City (1-0 away, with a goal from Prince Nxumalo) and lower league side Hungry Lions (on penalties after a 2-2 home draw in which Edidence Makgopa and Manuel Kambala netted for Bakgaga).

Leopards, meanwhile, have ousted lower league sides NWU Students 4-0 and Amavarara 2-0 in home matches in the Nedbank Cup, with Mogakolodi Ngele, Thobani Mncwango, Tumelo Khutlang, Lesedi Kapinga and Themba Ndlovu sharing the goals.

This will be a second clash between Baroka and Leopards in the space of a week, with the teams meeting in the league last Saturday: Bakgaga claimed a crucial 2-0 win thanks a brace from Makgopa, with the result boosting their survival hopes.

In all, the teams have met in five top-flight matches, dating back to their first meeting in the semifinals of the 2010/11 Nedbank Cup which Leopards won on penalties after a 2-2 draw: each club has claimed two outright wins over the other.

Lidoda Duvha, meanwhile, were in action on Tuesday night, suffering a 1-0 loss away to Bidvest Wits which sees them remain at the foot of the PSL table.

The winners will advance to the Nedbank Cup semifinals, which are set to be played on the weekend of April 18-19.
