TS Sporting and Bloemfontein Celtic will wrap up the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals when they meet at Kanyamazane Stadium on Sunday 15 March 2020, kick-off at 15:00 CAT.
TSP earned their place in the final eight thanks to a penalty shootout win over Ajax Cape Town (after a 2-2 away draw) and extra time 4-3 away triumph over Happy Wanderers – Kamohelo Sithole’s last-gasp penalty was all that separated the teams after 120 entertaining minutes.
The second-tier team come into the cup quarterfinal on the back of a 2-2 draw at home to Uthongathi this past weekend, a result which keeps them just three points above the GladAfrica Championship’s relegation zone.
Celtic, meanwhile, have also been free scorers in the Nedbank Cup in 2020, racking up 4-1 and 3-2 wins over fellow top-tier teams AmaZulu and Maritzburg United respectively. Wandisile Letlabika, Tumelo Njoti, Nelo Maema, Maloisane Ramasimong and Harris Tchilimbou have all netted in their campaign thus far.
Phunya Sele Sele come into this Sunday meeting on the back of a 2-0 loss away to Cape Town City in the league last weekend.
In head-to-head terms, this will be a first competitive meeting of TS Sporting and Bloemfontein Celtuc. The winners will advance to the Nedbank Cup semifinals, which are set to be played on the weekend of April 18-19.
