French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice have decided against keeping African duo Adam Ounas and Moussa Wague.
The club announced earlier this week as per Goal.com that they’d decided against taking up the buy option to sign the African stars permanently.
Nice had an option to buy both the Algeria and Senegal international respectively, but opted against trigging the clause with both players now set for a return to their parent clubs.
Ounas joined Nice on-loan from Napoli in August last year and scored four goals in 19 games for the Eaglets as they finished the cancelled Ligue 1 season in fifth place.
The 23-year-old, who was part of Algeria’s Africa Cup of Nations winning team last year, joined Napoli from Bordeaux in 2017.
Patrick Viera brought in Senegalese fullback Wague on-loan from Barcelona in January and the 21-year-old would make just the eight appearances for the French club before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic forced the suspension of the league season.
Wague became the youngest African goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history in 2018 before signing for Barcelona B from KAS Eupen.
