The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion: Plant Sims and new occults details

We’re counting down to the release of the new Sims 4  Eco Lifestyle expansion pack. Naturally, no pun intended, one of the big questions is whether the expansion will feature any new life states.

Occult players have been hopeful that Eco Lifestyle will improve on Plant Sims or even add new occult. However, with so many intricacies being coded into the game – like pollution coming to all worlds in the Sims 4, occults probably won’t get much love in this pack.

Plant Sims in The Sims 4

Plant Sims seem like a great fit for an eco-centred expansion pack, so it’s not surprising that many Simmers were hopeful that they will finally get some love. Plant Sims already exist in a very basic form in The Sims 4.

Previous iterations of The Sims have expanded on these Plant Sims, though, adding more complex gameplay than in The Sims 4.

However, occults in The  Sims 4 work best when they are released with a pack dedicated specifically to them – like Vampires or Spellcasters. The Mermaids released with the Island Living expansion pack for The Sims 4 have been a little underwhelming.

Some Simmers have shared great ideas on how to make Plant Sims more interesting in their own “occult” or “life state”. But will it happen in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack?

Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: No new life states or occults

Sim Guru Frost confirmed on Twitter that there will be no new life states or occults with the new Sims 4 expansion pack, but we haven’t seen any Guru explicitly say that there won’t be a little upgrade to the current Plant Sims. It’s probably unlikely, but we can remain hopeful, right?

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack trailer didn’t show anything to do with Plant Sims getting even a small upgrade, but there was a lot that the trailer didn’t show. We didn’t know until later that the pollution will impact all worlds and that there is some sort of weird lab meat / meat tree contraption.

Simmers have been hesitant to get their hopes up after the letdown of the 20th anniversary hot tub fiasco, but who knows, maybe we’re in for a surprise.

We can’t wait for the Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack livestream game play trailer to see more. Stay tuned for an official date.
