Sims 4 new Eco Lifestyle patch: Place windows and doors freely

The Sims 4 June patch will bring a huge free update to the game. This will make fundamental changes to much of the base game, including placement of doors and windows in build mode.

The Sims 4 June patch will come with a bunch of new updates for the base game. The Sims 4 free update patch, expected to be released on 2 June 2020, will see the return of some much-loved NPCs like fire fighters, ladders and many other features. This comes ahead of the release of the new Sims 4 expansion pack, Eco Lifestyle.

Another huge and notable update coming in the Sims 4 June patch, is the ability freely place windows and doors in build mode.

Simmers who love to build already know that using ALT while moving objects allows for more precise placing, but there has been a restriction on using this on windows and doors.

Until now that is. Take a little look at this screen grab from the livestream. Do you see a little something?

Sim Gurus revealed in the game play live stream of the new Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion that these restrictions have been lifted.

The Sims 4 June patch will bring this free update to build mode to all players. Builders still won’t be able to stack windows in build mode, as confirmed by Sim Guru George on Twitter.

Regardless, no longer being bound to a grid is a huge improvement for builders. The free placing in build mode applies to both doors and windows.
