The Super Rugby Aotearoa competition reaches round six this weekend, with two matches in New Zealand continuing the post-lockdown rise.
Reigning Super Rugby champions the Crusaders take their first bye since the opening weekend, giving the other four sides the chance to play catch up in the all-Kiwi competition.
Scott Robertson’s men have roared to four wins from four to sit top of the log, including last weekend’s hard-fought 26-15 success over the Blues in Christchurch.
The Auckland side are on the road again this Saturday as they make the hop to Wellington to take on the Hurricanes (kick off 9.05 SAST).
It’s a battle for supremacy as the nearest challengers to the men from Canterbury, with the Blues second and the Hurricanes third in the pile going into their fifth fixture of the truncated season.
Sky Stadium provided home comforts for the ‘Canes last weekend, too, as they battled to a 17-11 win over the Highlanders to snaffle their second victory of the campaign.
The Highlanders are also taking on the task of back-to-back away matches, as they move on to play basement boys the Chiefs on Sunday (5.35 SAST).
FMG Stadium Waikato is the venue as the home side make their fifth attempt at clinching a first win of the tournament, which could haul them above their visitors into fourth spot.
Prediction methodology explained
The expected win percentage is based off publicly available odds. For example, if a team’s odds are 2.30, the expected chance of winning is 43%. If the odds are 1.62 the expected chance of winning is 62% and so on. These are accurate at the time of writing but are subject to change. Where there is no value listed, the odds were not available at the time of writing.
