Sims 4 Nifty Knitting: Cheat to unlock all knitted clothing

The Sims 4 will release the much-anticipated Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack this coming week. The deep dive live stream into the pack revealed some fun details around the gameplay and objects set to ship with the pack.

One of the pack’s appeals, of course, is the chance for Sims to knit clothing items – including baby onesies – that Sims can wear. But, much like with the Eco Lifestyle expansion pack with the fabricator, players might not always want to follow the knitting narrative for a particular family.

Fortunately, The Sims 4 always has a cheat handy to help players advance their stories and the Nifty Knitting pack is no different. Simmers who have been playing for years are familiar with the cheat to get unlimited money in The Sims 4, amongst others.

The cheat will work the same as with all Sims cheats – so you have to go through the process of first turning on cheats in The Sims 4 before you can unlock all clothes in Nifty Knitting.

To activate cheats in the game, type “testingcheats.on” after opening the cheat box.

Before you enter your cheat codes, you need to open what is known as the “cheats dialogue box” or the “cheats console”. To get started with Sims 4 cheats, press CTRL+SHIFT+C on your keyboard if you’re using a PC. To open The Sims 4 cheats console on a Mac, press CMD+SHIFT+C.

Note: Make sure you do not include the full stop in the cheat. When we tested the cheat, in some cases, we had to activate it while in Create-A-Sim and we had to do some for each individual Sim.

The cheat for unlocking all clothing items in The Sims 4 Nifty Knitting is cas.unlockbytag SP17. Copy/paste this cheat code into the box and hit enter. Remember to check that you do not add the full stop at the end here – and watch out for rogue spaces being copied across – sometimes cheats won’t work because of a random space that inserted itself during the copy/paste process.

It is important to note that using this cheat will permanently unlock all clothing items for that household – so there’s no going back once you have used it.
