Origin Access will become EA Play soon

Origin will also get a new look soon with some changes expected to start rolling out on 18 August 2020.

Origin Access and the EA Access subscription services will soon be called EA Play. A new look for Origin will start rolling out on 18 August. There won’t be any changes to the benefits subscribers receive, but the names will change.

EA Access and Origin Access Basic will become EA Play, and Origin Access Premier will change to EA Play Pro.

Electronic Arts released a statement saying access to the library of top titles, early game trials, and the ten percent membership discount won’t be abolished and that there would be more benefits added in the coming months.

The statement read:

“All the great benefits you love (access to a library of top titles, early game trials, and your 10% membership discount) aren’t going anywhere. In fact, we’re adding even more in the coming months, starting with exclusive in-game challenges and monthly reward drops for members on select titles.”

EA Play: What is it exactly and what members get

The statement said the move will ensure that services are streamlined to give the EA Play member “the best way to play”.

According to the statement, members will be able to access exclusive in-game challenges and rewards, unlock special member-only content, play early trials of brand-new titles, get instant access to a collection of our best-loved series and top titles, and save ten percent on EA digital purchases, from full games to DLC.

What about the exclusive challenges, rewards, and content?

EA said that these will vary, depending on the title. The statement explained that it will include things like “early access challenges and rewards like Ultimate Team Packs, exclusive vanity items and cosmetics, and more”.
