PSL fixtures: Scores and predictions – Cape Town City vs Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns need all three points if they are to get their title chase back on track.

Cape Town City FC and Mamelodi Sundowns will square off the PSL on Monday at Loftus Versveld. It will be the fourth game in nine days for the Brazillians.  Kick off is at 18:00

Coach Pitso Mosimane has admitted the rush to finish the league has been tough on his players, with just two out of six points collected since the restart.

The Citizens have collected maximum points in their opening game in the-so called “Bio Bubble”. They beat Chippa United 0-1 last week.

Clashes against the Cape Town side are always a spectacle. In the previous seven meetings, a total of sixteen goals have been scored between the sides and nine of those were scored by Masandawana. The Brazilians have registered four wins out of the seven clashes.

Mamelodi Sundowns, now six points adrift of title chasers Kaizer Chiefs, need to find some magic after consecutive draws since the league’s restart.

Scoring has not always been a strong point for the Brazilians this season though and it doesn’t look like things will get much better. Cape Town City FC have kept a clean sheet in their last three fixtures and five out of seven of their last home games. Although, how much a ‘home’ advantage really matters in a bio bubble is uncertain.
