Sims 4 Star Wars Journey to Batuu has no new life states, just masks

The Sims 4's new game pack has no new life states. Instead, the "aliens" that come with the Star Wars game pack are just wearing hats and masks.

The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will be released on 8 September 2020. The new game pack has not been that well received so far. One of the main criticisms of the pack is that it lacks replay value.

Another sticking point is that the pack has not added any new occult Sims. The characters seen in the trailers and reviews so far are just wearing costumes and masks.

Players had hoped for improvements to aliens in The Sims 4 or perhaps a Jedi life state to be added with the new Star Wars pack, but that is not the case.

Early reviews from EA Game Changers have confirmed that the characters from Batuu are created by using Create-A-Sim assets.

Yes, even those horned-heads – all just a hat as shown by this screenshot from EA Game Changer Fantayzia‘s YouTube review of CAS. This quirk has added to concerns about interference in game play for more traditional players.

Sims 4 townies (the Sims randomly generated by the game), have a reputation for being awfully dressed and players worry that these Sims might start showing up with an odd combination of outfits which include the Star Wars masks.

Players are hopeful that there will be a lock put on where the outfits from the pack can appear. The Star Wars outfits that already exist in the Sims 4 base game don’t tend to appear on random Sims (not that we have experienced anyway).

But this pack is far more expansive with way more outfits and glitches do happen. Fortunately, as with many problems in The Sims 4, there is a mod to help fix the experience.

deaderpool’s MC Command Center for The Sims 4 will probably get quite a work out for players who have this pack and want to mitigate the risk of Star Wars masked townies wandering around lots.
