The English Premier League whizzes back into action this weekend with a mouthwatering to kick off the season.
The English Premier League (EPL) returns this weekend after a shorter-than-usual recess. The pandemic affected season has barely ended and it’s time to go around again.
Saturday marks the league’s return with a London derby between Fulham and Arsenal kicking the season off. The Cottagers will be hoping for better form than the last time they played, having been humbled 4-1 in January.
But most eyes will be on defending champions Liverpool starting their season against newly-promoted Leeds United, also on Saturday.
The other headline fixture for the weekend is a showdown between Tottenham and Everton on Sunday.
Everton were narrowly beaten when last the sides played, but with big-name signing James Rodriguez on board, plus French defender Abdoulaye Doucoure, could be transformed in the new season.
Also in action on Saturday is Crystal Palace against Southampton and West Ham hosting Newcastle.
Sunday’s fixtures kick off with West Brom hosting Leicester followed by the headline clash of Spurs vs Everton.
All fixture kick off time listed below are South African time.
