The Sims 4 new expansion: Announcement date and time

The next expansion pack for The Sims 4 will be revealed this week on 20 October 2020.

Update: The new Sims 4 expansion pack will be Snowy Escape. Read more about the teaser and watch the trailer premiere here.

The Sims 4 will announce its tenth expansion pack this coming week and there’s no real hint to suggest what the theme might be (but that’s not going to stop us trying to have a guess).

There have been quite a few leaks about future Sims content in the past – legit ones from retailers pre-listing packs, fake ones and accidental ones – but there’s be a tight light kept on info surrounding the game’s next expansion pack.

Even the announcement that the pack will be revealed this coming week was somewhat out of character for The Sims 4. It was only because of an in-game promotional screen spotted by players that the next expansion pack’s announcement came to light.

Sims 4 New Expansion Pack Date Announement

Players were greeted with a welcome screen earlier in the week which said the next Sims 4 expansion pack will be revealed on 20 October 2020 on the game’s YouTube channel. Some players reported that the screen with the announcement later disappeared. We had a look on Sunday and it wasn’t there when we loaded up the game.

The Sims 4 new expansion pack: Date for the reveal

The pack will be announced on Tuesday 20 October 2020 with a trailer on the game’s YouTube channel. We’ll update this post to include the link to the video as soon as we get it.

If The Sims 4 follows the usual trend of expansion announcements, a teaser could be revealed on Monday, 19 October 2020. According to the game’s welcome screen, the trailer will premiere at 8:00 Pacific Time, which is at 17:00 South African time (GMT +2).

At the time of writing, no further details were available on any of the official Sims 4 channels. There is an Origin sale offering over 50% off on Sims 4 content set to end on 20 October, though.
