The live stream will take place on 30 October 2020 at 11:00 Pacific Time (20:00 South African time, or 18:00 GMT). Players will be able to watch the live stream on the official YouTube and Twitch channels for The Sims.

The Sims 4 Snow Escape: What we know so far

Some of the pack’s new features have already been revealed. We know that the world will be both residential and a vacation world and be called Mt. Komorebi, a Japanese word meaning 'sunlight that filters through the trees'.

New skills and activities include rock climbing, skiing, and snowboarding skills and will have the option for Sims to explore the snowy world in various ways.

While the new world is indeed weather affected, players do not require The Sims 4: Seasons expansion for this new expansion pack to work.

The Sims 4 Snowy Escape will also add the ability to use different levels in build mode - ie differen't heights on floors - a feature which most likely will be rolled out to the base game in a pre-pack patch.

The pack will also include an update to Sims' relationships, introducting Lifestyles and Sentiments. While more details still need to be added to what exactly this feature means, the description in the official blog post sounds promising.

"Unlock new personality and relationship effects with the introduction of Lifestyles and Sentiments. Lifestyles manifest in response to your Sim’s actions and habits, changing their behaviours appropriately. Similarly, shared experiences inspire Sentiments and have a lasting impact on Sims’ relationship," the blog post read.

More details, including information on how the game partnered with YouTubers to 'bring the pack to life" will be revealed in the coming weeks.
