The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle – questions Gurus have answered

Sim Gurus have answered a few questions about the new Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle pack. Here they are.

The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle, will be released on 5 June 2020. So far, reactions to the pack have been somewhat mixed. The trailer didn’t give away too much, but there’s more to come – including a base game update with ladders.

As is usually the case after a trailer drops, Sim Gurus answer some questions from Simmers on Twitter…. that’s where the Sims 4 ladders for the base game update was revealed.

There are some things they can’t reveal, obviously (we’ll have to wait for the live stream to see it all), but if you want to get a bit more insight about what Eco Lifestyle might bring to The Sims 4, here’s what we know for sure.

Ladders will be coming to The Sims 4 basegame

But you knew that already. You can use them inside and outside. Finally, lofts, actual lofts.

Release date across all platforms

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion will release across all platforms on the same date. That’s 5 June, in case you missed it.

Evergreen Harbor won’t have missions like in Strangerville

SimGuruGeorge gave a firm “no” to that question.

The number of lots in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle

That remains a mystery for now. We have a wild theory (complete speculation) that it could be an open world with a single lot. When asked about it, @SimGuruFrost said:

“We’ll have lots of lots for you lot.”

New traits, aspirations, harvestables and recipes

And probably new skills and lot traits. Both SimGuruFrost and SimGuru George answered this question. The latter said that the pack has “all kinds of fun bits”.

Those aren’t chickens the guy is cuddling

They’re worms. Based on sago grubs. And you can’t name them.

The Community Space Lot will work in other worlds

This is potentially a big one. Central to this pack is the new “community spaces” – the thing, it seems, that makes or breaks your neighbourhood. SimGuruFont confirmed that these lots can be set in other worlds, too.

There will be new NPCs

Responding to a question about whether gameply will be similar to Strangerville, SimGuruFrost said: “Not quite like Strangerville, we’ll have NPC’s that are core to the pack theme you will get to know.”

There’s a gameplay trailer coming soon

A lot of people have issues with the pakc beause it feels like the whole “changing the world based on what your Sims do” is just recycled from Island Living. SimGuruFrost responded to this by saying:

“While the reveal trailer is excellently made we def have a lot more to show with our livestream (coming later this month) and gameplay trailer coming soon(ish?)”

Nectar making is probably returning

While it wasn’t officially confirmed with a straight yes or no… in response to a Simmer saying they miss nectar making, Frost said: “I foresee a couple of things already you’re going to enjoy.”

We’re still in the mixed zone about this pack. We’ll keep an eye out for the latest news on gameplay trailers and the rest, so stay tuned.
