It’s been over a week since the icon for the new Sims 4 game pack accidentally leaked on the official EA website. While there have been loads of theories and speculation about what the new pack might be, there has been no official confirmation from The Sims 4 team about what the new pack will be.
One of the dominant theories is that it is some sort of Star Wars crossover/Star Wars inspired pack with a heavy space influence.
We have also explored a theory about the pack possibly being an underwater or Atlantis-inspired pack.
There is another school of thought that it could very well be a winter-resort pack – because of the hints – or potential hints – in the Tiny Living Stuff Pack as well as the possible hint in the Nifty Knitting trailer.
Finally, we also looked at the potential for this being a Norse-mythology or a medieval pack of sorts.
But we are still none the wiser about what exactly the new Sims 4 game pack will be.
One thing we know for sure is that the Sims 4 team did say the game pack will be a “major first” for them when they released the six-month road map pack in April. If that timeline is still applicable, the latest release date for the new Sims 4 game pack will be September (with more content likely to come ahead of the December holidays).
The anticipation is unbearable – especially since many Simmers had hoped there would at least be a trailer by now considering the wild speculation that followed the game pack’s icon leak.
But “teasers” are usually dropped on Monday with trailers on a Tuesday and Monday has come and gone. That doesn’t mean a trailer can’t still come on Tuesday, but it has dampened hopes somewhat.
To get a sense of when the new Sims 4 game pack might be released and when we can expect a trailer, we went back and checked the release dates of both.
Sims 4 game packs: Trailer date vs pack release
We used the published date of the trailers on the Sims 4’s official YouTube channel for the trailer release, so the first two might not be entirely accurate.
For new Sims 4 game packs, the time between the release of the trailer and the pack itself tends to be two weeks. It’s also worth noting that the Sims 4 have not released a game pack in August before. While that does not mean this won’t change (Realm of Magic was the first game pack released in September), it is good to keep expectations in check on when we might see the new Sims 4 game pack from the 2020 six-month roadmap.
