Sims 4 update: New content for Hispanic History month [pictures]

Bright, bold and free. The Sims 4 base game will be getting a load of new content to celebrate Hispanic History month.

A new free update for The Sims 4 base game will add a host of bright and colourful items to celebrate Hispanic History month.

The new content was announced during a surprise live stream on Monday and will be released in the next free update on Tuesday, 6 October 2020.

The update is inspired by Latin America and includes a range of beautiful new items. It’s a welcome relief for players – and probably the game’s developers – after what has been a challenging year.

The free Sims 4 base game update will include new Create-a-Sim items, new music, loads of beautiful new items in Build/Buy and new recipes.

Ah, all of those food-related Tweets by the Sim Gurus recently were hinting at all of this, then.

The October update will add the following new recipes: Pinchos, Pollo a la Brasa, Elote, Asado, Grilled Plantains, Chicken Chimichurri Skewers, Choripan, and Chimi.

The new music will add two new songs. “Chocolate” and “A La Buena”, to the Pop station. New CAS items – including a new tattoo – will also be added.

Brightly coloured tables, chairs, a new grill, murals, ceramic pots and a pergola make up the new items in build/buy mode.

Unlike the two-part skin tones update, of which part one will only be available for PC tomorrow, this free content will be available for both PC and console at the same time.

This update is one of the biggest free updates the game has added in 2020. It’s a marked improvement on the somewhat disappointing 20th anniversary of the franchise, which was a bit of a damp squib for players.

Here’s a quick video overview of all the new items that will be released with the update. Images of the items follow below.
