It has been a busy week in terms of Sims 4 news. A free update to the base game rolled out early in the week, adding build-mode platforms, Sentiments for better Sims personalities and the ability to vacation in any world.
The update also came with the promise that the Eyeball Ring has finally been banished and Sims have put the days of washing dishes where they angry poop behind them. Some players, however, are reporting their Sims are simply too stubborn to comply. But, we digress.
Base game updates mean issues with mods and modders have been hard at work (we are not worthy) doing updates to make sure we can all keep enjoying our games with them.
But that wasn’t the only new content released this week. The new Sims 4 expansion pack, Snow Escape, was also released on 13 November 2020.
The pack has already left us enamoured at first glance, but even more so now that one of the best Sims 4 mods (possibly ever) has been updated with all the Snowy Escape content.
Sims 4: Better BuildBuy mod makes building much easier
If you are not familiar with the Better BuildBuy mod, we’ll explain real quick. Created by TwistedMexi, the genius behind the T.O.O.L mod, Better BuildBuy pretty much does what it says on the tin: it improves Build/Buy mode.
We don’t just mean casual improvements, we mean life (and build-changing) stuff. The mod not only adds debug and live edit items as an option in the catalogue, but it actually labels them and categorises them correctly.
If you have ever used debug or live edit items, you’ll know that they can be an absolute menace to find. That’s because most of the items remain labelled as ** DEBUG **. If you have more than a few packs, things can get pretty cluttered.
But TwistedMexi came to rescue everyone’s sanity and changed all of that. It takes a bit of manual tagging to update any new content, so while the mod was still usable after the release of Snowy Escape, it didn’t have the new items categorised yet.
That’s all done now, though, and the latest update of the Better BuildBuy mod can be downloaded on TwistedMexi’s Patreon page.
If you weren’t convinced about becoming a Patreon of his already, did we mention this mod also includes an extended build/buy catalogue, giving you a much better overview of available objects? Well, now you know.
