Ah, we have missed a bit of this speculation fun. Ever since the release of the new Sims 4 Snowy Escape expansion pack, there have not been many hints about what to expect from future Sims 4 content.
Not that we have been looking very hard, to be honest. We’ve been enjoying actually playing Snowy Escape far too much. Other than the Paranormal Plates that came as an object with that expansion, there’s not been all that much to speculate about. Or maybe there has and it’s just gone completely over our heads.
Either way, there’s something afoot right now. Two Sim Gurus recently updated their bios on Twitter to reference songs from Highschool Musical. (H/T to Simmer Erin on YouTube for her video, on the ball with the hints and speculation as always).
We don’t want to give away our age or anything, but we haven’t watched Highschool Musical, so we aren’t that au fait with the references which simply say “we’re all in this together” on GrimSuruDoi’s bio and “Break free!” on SimGuruRitzy’s bio.
Now, if you’d showed us the latter bio without suggesting anything related to a TV show, we might have taken it as a hint that babies might finally be set for freedom from their cribs.
But a recent job posting for a Voice Editor with Maxis (covered in more specific detail by another YouTuber, Iron Seagull in the video below), perhaps suggests that there is some possibility that a band or music-themed pack could be coming to the game in the near future.
One of the ‘nice to haves’ listed on the job spec was “music performance skills, vocals in particular”. You might recall that previous surveys asking players about what content they’d like to see in The Sims 4, included rock bands as an option.
That description about what sort of content a Sims 4 music pack might include, read as follows:
From the garage to the stage of a stadium, take your Sims on an epic musical journey and capture them into rock superstars! Let yourself be carried away success at the height of the social glory.
Another survey also asked players about American High Schools, something which would add much needed gameplay depth for younger Sims, particularly children.
As with all Sims 4 speculation posts, when you start looking for hints, they keep tumbling out. The process of the Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack included several hints to “rocking” – which could just be a reference to the rocking chairs that came with the pack.
That pack also included a metal radio station. Hrm. The threads of your future weave together, right? Ah, we might be reaching, but it’s been a while since we’ve indulged a bit of speculation.
