Africa Cup of Nations predictions, standings & fixtures: Tuesday 30 December 2025

Uganda vs Nigeria and Tanzania vs Tunisia complete Group C, Benin vs Senegal and Botswana vs DR Congo finish Group D at Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday.

Another dramatic day at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is guaranteed on Tuesday, when the next two pools are decided in Morocco.

Nigeria are already through to the Round of 16 going into their final Group C match against Uganda, while Tunisia need to avoid defeat to Tanzania to do their part in making sure of a runners-up spot.

Group D has it all to play for as Senegal go up against Benin in the match of the day, with Botswana looking to spring a surprise against DR Congo.

Group C: Tanzania vs Tunisia – 18.00

Tunisia still have work to do if they are to make it out of Group C at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday, with Tanzania their final pool opponents in Rabat.

The Carthage Eagles made the perfect Afcon start when they breezed to a 3-1 success over Uganda a week ago.

But they couldn’t repeat the trick against Nigeria, despite late goals from Montassar Talbi and Ali Abdi threatening a dramatic comeback against the Super Eagles, who clung on for a 3-2 win.

That means anything less than a win will leave the Tunisians nervously looking at the result elsewhere in order to continue the hunt for the title they last claimed in 2004.

A Simon Msuva penalty proved only enough for a point in the Taifa Stars’ erratic East African derby with Uganda last time out.

They had earlier opened their tournament with a creditable effort in going down 2-1 to Nigeria.

Group C: Uganda vs Nigeria – 18.00

Nigeria go into their final Group C match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations safe in the knowledge they have already secured a knockout berth, with opponents Uganda desperate to cause a shock in Fes on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles haven’t had it all their own way by any stretch, coming through both pool fixtures so far with victories by the slimmest of margins.

Goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman looked to have done the trick against Tunisia on Saturday night.

But two late goals for the Carthage Eagles seriously threatened to uproot that good work, only for the west Africans to hang on, much like they did in their opener, where they edged Tanzania 2-1.

Uganda have a puncher’s chance at progression but know that they almost certainly will need a win to sneak it.

The Cranes were well beaten by Tunisia in their opening match, before Uche Ikpeazu’s late equaliser against neighbours Tanzania kept their slim hopes alive on Saturday.

Group D: Benin vs Senegal – 21.00

It’s all to play for in Group D in Tangier on Tuesday, as Benin and Senegal battle it out for knockout places at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Lions of Teranga were indebted to legendary Sadio Mane against DR Congo on Saturday, as the former Liverpool forward scored the leveller that took them to four points and with a foot in the Round of 16.

They had earlier enjoyed a much more straightforward first outing against Botswana, coming through 3-0 winners thanks to a double from Nicolas Jackson and a late third courtesy of Cherif Ndiaye.

But Benin are right in the mix for progression after Yohan Roche scored the only goal against Botswana to seal his nation’s first Afcon victory.

They had also pushed DR Congo all the way in eventually going down by the only goal of the game, leaving at least a best third-placed finisher spot right in front of them.

Group D: Botswana vs DR Congo – 21.00

DR Congo know they have a shot at top spot in Group D at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday, when they go up against pointless Botswana in Rabat.

The Leopards are building towards their upcoming shot at 2026 Fifa World Cup qualification, but have continental business to attend to first in Morocco.

Cedric Bakambu put them ahead against Senegal, one of the tournament favourites, last Saturday, only for Sadio Mane to salvage a point to leave the final placings wide open.

Theo Bongonda had previously scored the only goal of the game as they saw off plucky Benin in their Afcon opener.

Minnows Botswana have two defeats from two so far, as they take part in the African showpiece for just the second time.

But the 24-team format means the Zebras could still sneak through in third place if they can pull off a shock and claim three points in this one.

They went down by the only goal to Benin on Saturday, after being dispensed with 3-0 by Senegal in their opening match at the tournament they haven’t graced since their debut in 2012.
