Bonehilda made her return to The Sims 4 with the release of the Paranormal Stuff Pack (complete with water puddles when she is trying to quench her thirst), but her homecoming received a bit of a mixed response.
Well, we say homecoming? part of the reason her return was not universally celebrated is because she is missing her home. Or what Simmers have come to know as her home anyway.
Over the last 21 years of The Sims franchise, Bonehilda has lived in a cosy coffin. But in The Sims 4, she is conjured up and then just politely leaves when she’s done with her duties.
Unless, of course, you decide that you would like to have Bonehilda babies and you want her to shed her skeletal costume and become a real Sim.
Either way, there is no coffin for Bonehilda in The Sims 4. But there soon will be? thanks to a modder.
Before Bonehilda’s return, modders already added her to The Sims 4 – complete with a coffin. Esmeralda’s Bonehilda brought her back, while mods from LittleMsSam like the Better Nanny and Live-In Services mods, added gameplay elements that worked on their own or with the Bonehilda’s Coffin of Justice by CommodoreLezmo (released before the Paranormal Stuff Pack).
All of these mods helped bring back an NPC favourite, long before the Paranormal Stuff Pack. Some of these might even still be useable without the Paranormal Stuff Pack.
But this upcoming mod is specifically for the Bonehilda that came with the Paranormal Stuff Pack.
SrslySims, who you might know for her amazing black save file or Cooking Overhaul mod, recently shared a little teaser over on Twitter recently, announcing that they are working on an overhaul for Bonehilda. No expected release date was given, but we do have some idea of what to expect from the mod that will add a home for Bonehilda.
SrslySims said they would be looking into coffin variations, but before release, the biggest challenge is to get Bonehilda to spawn inside the coffin, rather than the requirement of having her appear out of thin air. Sims will also still need the Medium Skill to have Bonehilda appear, according to SrslySims.
While the Bonehilda overhaul mod is in progress, Patreon subscribers of SrslySims can give their feedback on the Bonehilda that came with the Paranormal Stuff Pack.
