English Premier League predictions, fixtures and results: 18 – 19 February 2023

Leaders Manchester City and Arsenal both on the road, while Liverpool go to Newcastle, Manchester United host Leicester, Chelsea meet Saints and Tottenham play West Ham in Premier League this weekend.

The stakes are sky high this weekend, as we roll through another full round of fixtures in the English Premier League.

Manchester City are the new EPL leaders in town thanks to their sparkling victory on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions hit the road again on Saturday to take on a Nottingham Forest side who have pulled away from the relegation zone in recent weeks.

Arsenal were toppled from the top of the table by City thanks to a 3-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium, which made it three without a win for Mikel Arteta’s side.

It’s a blip that is threatening to pull the rug from under the Gunners, who head to the West Midlands to take on Aston Villa in the Saturday lunchtime kick off.

There’s a nostalgia classic in the evening fixture at St James’ Park, too, as Liverpool head north to meet Newcastle.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds stopped the rot with a derby win at Anfield on Monday night, while the Toon Army racked up a third consecutive draw last weekend.

Tensions are running high in west London, meanwhile, as underachieving Chelsea go up against Southampton on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

Blues coach Graham Potter needs an upturn in fortunes from his extravagantly assembled squad, if he’s to avoid the same fate as Nathan Jones, who was fired by the Saints after failing to arrest their slide to the foot of the table.

Sunday sees a pair of eye-catching Premier League ties, with Manchester United welcoming improving Leicester to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils come into the weekend third in the standings and in fine fettle, while the Foxes have rattled in four goals in each of their last two league victories.

A London derby is a mouthwatering prospect at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, too, as Spurs put their iffy form to the test in a rival clash against relegation-threatened West Ham.

Elsewhere on Saturday there’s another relegation showdown as Sean Dyche’s Everton face off against Leeds at Goodison Park.

At the right end of the table there’s a contest between Brighton and Fulham, who come into the Amex Stadium fixture locked in sixth and seventh place respectively with 35 points apiece.

Brentford are a single point behind the pair as they face Crystal Palace in another capital city derby.

And there’s a Molineux clash between Wolves and Bournemouth, with the former pulling away from trouble under Julen Lopetegui and the latter slap bang in danger of relegation back to the Championship.
