It’s another massive weekend of English Premier League action, with the first battle of the season between arch-rivals Arsenal and Tottenham the standout fixture.
The North London Derby has an added air of importance about it, too, even at this early stage of the EPL campaign.
That’s because both the Gunners and Spurs occupy top four places in the table, collecting 13 points apiece out of a possible 15 ahead of their Emirates Stadium showdown on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool are squeezed between the capital city heavyweights in the standings and have a home date at Anfield as they put their own unbeaten start to the test.
West Ham are the visitors to Jurgen Klopp’s third-placed Reds, with the Hammers having lost for the first time themselves last weekend.
Fans of Chelsea can only dream of such lofty heights, all despite a transfer spending spree of biblical proportions.
The Blues have won only once and netted a paltry five goals so far this term, with Sunday’s Stamford Bridge clash with dangerous Aston Villa their next appointment under an increasingly frustrated Mauricio Pochettino.
Manchester United know the sinking feeling well, as they head to Burnley for the Saturday night Premier League match only a point and a place better off.
Anything but a three-point haul from their short trip to Turf Moor will likely see the Red Devils lurching once again in the direction of crisis mode, even with just half a dozen matches played.
Noisy neighbours Manchester City are burdened by no such drama.
Pep Guardiola and his reigning champions come into their home tie with Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium with five wins from five, with few betting against them making it a half dozen.
Two more Sunday fixtures, meanwhile, both carry more than a little intrigue.
Outstanding Brighton pulled off a fine win at Old Trafford last time out, with Bournemouth now making the short trip along the south coast to do battle at the Amex Stadium.
And there’s a return from the continent for Newcastle, who made a dogged start to life back in the Uefa Champions League for the first time in a generation in midweek.
They go to Bramall Lane for the sole later kick off, with promoted Sheffield United still searching for a first EPL win, although they’ll have to get the match officials back onside first thanks to coach Paul Heckingbottom’s referee outburst last weekend.
Locked on a single point with the Blades are sorry Everton, who are down in London for another tough examination away to Brentford.
Sean Dyche’s Toffees need an upturn sharpish if they are to avoid yet another miserable relegation battle but will have a job on their hands, despite the Bees’ own iffy run of form.
Arguably the most genteel of London derbies sees Crystal Palace meet Fulham at Selhurst Park.
They have made identically solid starts to the new campaign, with veteran Eagles boss Roy Hodgson expected to return from illness to lead his side against his former club.
It’s also the best chance yet for minnows Luton to put at least a point on the board, with struggling Wolves the visitors to Kenilworth Road.
