Sometimes objects in The Sims 4 just do not fit where or how you want. Some landscape items can be too bulky while others are just way too small.

There is an underrated ?cheat? to bend these objects to your will, though. We say cheat, because it is not really a cheat ? it’s just an enhancement of build mode in The Sims 4.

This nifty little trick will take your builds in The Sims 4 to the next level. Resizing objects in build mode works on everything, but some objects do have a limit on how many up or downsizes it will go.

While resizing objects in The Sims 4 does also work on doors and windows, these will cause clipping when they are resized and placed on walls.

How to resize objects in The Sims 4 build mode

To resize objects in the Sims 4 build mode, all you have to do is use ?the [ or ] keys on your keyboard while gripping the object you want to change.

This works great for landscape items when you want to get fuller coverage of an area, for example. It is perfect for sizing up some of the debug foliage to build a base game patio with lattice beams, for example.

Make sure you have turned testingcheats on in the dialogue box. Here’s a quick video to show how objects change size.

While most objects will retain the ability for your Sims to use them when they are resized, the animation on larger objects might not look quite right ? so use this sparingly for objects your Sims will interact with.

After a while of using the cheat for resizing objects in The Sims 4 build mode, you’ll get a good idea of what works and what doesn’t.
