Golden Arrows

About

Lamontville Golden Arrows is a well-established Premier Soccer League (PSL) club from Durban. They are known as Abafana Bes’thende, which translates to “the backheel boys”.

Golden Arrows are generally a mid-table club, but they have had some outstanding players in their ranks. Thamsanqa Gabuza was just one.

Arrows are looking to climb the standings and become more than just a club fighting for a place in the MTN8. You can follow their live scores, fixtures and results, as well as the PSL table, through Extra Time Media.

Historic Record

Golden Arrows lifted the MTN8 title in 2009 but have generally not been a dominant force in South African football in the 2000s. The club was initially formed as far back as 1943.

2002-03 and 2008-09 saw Abafana Bes’thende finish fifth in the league, but they have yet to kick on and really take on the big guns.

Golden Arrows appointed Steve Komphela to replace Clinton Larsen as coach late in 2018.

Abafana Bes’thende play in the Premiership, Telkom Knockout, Nedbank Cup and sometimes MTN8. Keep an eye on their fixtures using our live scoring page.
