Maritzburg United is a PSL club based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Well-esteemed coaches such as Clive Barker, Steve Komphela, Ernst Middendorp, Fadlu Davids and Eric Tinkler have been at the club. The same applies to players such as Lebohang Maboe and Siphesihle Ndlovu.

Maritzburg United had a particularly impressive 2017-18 season, during which they were the pride of KwaZulu-Natal. Their main KZN rivals are Golden Arrows and AmaZulu.

Historic Record

Maritzburg United achieved the remarkable when they finished fourth in the Premiership in 2017-18. They were neck-and-neck with Kaizer Chiefs in the race for CAF Confederation Cup football, but were pipped at the post.

In addition, Maritzburg made the final of the Nedbank Cup that season, although they ultimately lost to Free State Stars.

Maritzburg United FC was founded in 1979 and the club has seen no shortage of highs and lows since.
