Not that we did not know this already, but it has now been officially confirmed. The Sims 4: Courtyard Oasis Kit will be released on 18 May 2021. The Kit is inspired by the vibrant colours of Morocco and will focus on build mode.

The new Sims 4 Kit was leaked on the official Microsoft Store last week, but had not been officially confirmed until now. The announcement was made on the official Twitter account for The Sims on Wednesday.

While the exact details of what the new Sims 4 Kit will add are yet to be revealed, the official announcement directly addressed the players who prefer to build. Sims 4 Kits were introduced earlier in 2021 and are a sort of micro-content with a singular focus in one of the gameplay areas.

It is possible that the Kit could include modular or sectional sofas/coaches – a feature that was leaked during an Inside Maxis live stream after the release of bunk beds.

The official description for The Sims 4 Courtyard Oasis Kit, did not make any mention of this, though, so it might very well be a feature reserved for a future base game update.

We have already looked at some amazing Custom Content to pair perfectly with (and without) the new Sims 4 Kit perfectly, if you want to take your game to the next level, too, if you want to start with the hype.

Sims 4 May updates, new Kit and Game Pack – What we know

To date, three Kits – Bust the Dust, Country Kitchen and Throwback Fit, have been released. These focussed on gameplay, buy mode and Create-a-Sim. That would make the new Sims 4 Courtyard Oasis Kit the first dedicated largely to build mode.

So far, Sims 4 Kits received a lukewarm reception, with the price point being one of the biggest sticking points for players.

Players have also pointed out that the base game remains littered with bugs and still lacks some highly requested features – even seven years after the fourth edition of the popular simulation franchise first released.

At least one of the game’s longest running bugs – the dreaded Simulation Lag – is being worked on, but there is no ETA for when this might be fixed.

There will, however, be two updates for the Sims 4 base game in May 2021, as revealed in the Laundry List (update: the first patch is being released on 13 May 2021). A new Sims 4 Game Pack is also set to be announced, but the theme of it is yet to be confirmed.

On 17 May, a day before the release of the new Sims 4 Kit, there will be a “Summer Line Up” announcement from the team, though, which might shed more light on what to expect from The Sims 4 in 2021.
