Sims 4 will now allow players to name cow plants with free update

Sims 4 Cow Plant Naming Updates

There are a lot of strange things that players can do in The Sims 4. It is one of the many reasons the game is so appealing. The cow plant, which players can cheat to get if they want, is one of the game’s stranger things. But until now, there has been one thing missing from the cow plant: naming it.

For a long time, players have begged the Sim Gurus for the ability to name cow plants. Some Sims YouTubers have been more upset about it than others. But during the Sims 4 Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack deep dive on Tuesday, it was revealed that this campaign to allow for the naming of cow plants has finally succeeded.

As with all new packs, there will be a free base game update prior to the release of The Sims 4 Nifty Knitting on 28 July. That patch will allow Simmers to name cow plants.

While most of the pre-pack patch updates will centre around bug fixes, the base game will also get two updates (which we know of) as revealed in the deep dive live stream for Nifty Knitting. One feature coming with the base game update is the subtle saucer getting a smaller cousin (finally! no need to cheat with resize objects) and a price reduction.

And then there is the ability to name a cow plant. Meaningless to some, life changing to others, apparently.

It is not clear when the patch for the base game will be released. Tuesdays are usually patch days, but the Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack is scheduled for release on 28 July – a Tuesday. We’ll keep you updated.
