It’s the season to announcement things. For The Sims 4 team anyway.
Simmers have been spoiled in 2019 with two expansion packs (Island Living and Discover University) as well as a game and stuff pack (Realm of Magic and Moschino Stuff respectively).
Now it looks like something else is afoot.
SimGuruFrost revealed on Twitter earlier this week that the team will host a Maxis Monthly in December.
He said that Simmers can expect an update on The Sims Mobile and The Sims Freeplay and information about the second Community Stuff Pack Vote. He ended the Tweet by saying the team will also reveal their “last big announcement for 2019”.

This revelation comes on the back of a very cryptic Tweet sent by SimGuruForst in November. It simply said “[REDACTED]”.
When SimGurus use that phrase it usually refers to something interesting brewing and the looming announcement seemingly confirms that.
Speculation around December 2019 Maxis Monthly
Simmers have been chattering away in the replies to the Tweet, all speculating on what the announcement might be. The guru has remained tight-lipped, however, he did confirm that it won’t be the announcement of a pack, responding to one user by saying: “We don’t announce paid DLC on Maxis Monthly.”
Some Simmers believe that it might be confirmation that The Sims 5 is in the works, while others are simply hoping for a big update to the base game.
SimGuruFrost also confirmed it won’t be an update to babies in the gameplay – another feature many Simmers have been hankering for.
Other Simmers are more hopeful and dreaming big, especially after the November update.
The game released the Legacy Edition of The Sims 4 in November. That release was originally planned for June 2019, but was delayed until last month.
The Sims 4 Legacy Edition came as part of the announcement from EA that they will no longer support The Sims 4 on Non-Metal Mac OS machines or PC 32-bit Operating Systems.
Simmers hope that this phasing out of older computers will open the door for some more expansive updates.
