Want bunk beds in The Sims 4? Build them ? no mods or CC

We love the Sims 4 CC and mod creators. They fill the gaps in the game all the time. Recently, we looked at Sims 4 CC for functional bunk beds ? they?re pretty cool. Even The Sims Mobile has bunk beds way before the Sims 4.

But not all Simmers are comfortable playing with mods or CC, but that should not exclude them from having nice things like bunk beds in The Sims 4.

While only the bottom bunk in this version of the creation is functional, it is useful if you want to set up a specific shot for a storyline or if you are just playing around with set dressing in The Sims 4.

While there is technically a way to make both functional by using the sunken room/loft bed method, this is a super simple and quick way to set up Sims 4 bunk beds.

You can do this with just the base game, although that will take a lot of patience and a bit of time. We will deal with that in another tutorial. If?you would like to get a weekly newsletter?featuring our Sims 4 CC picks along these tutorials,?sign up to our Sims 4 newsletter over here.

But let’s look at the simplest way to build bunk beds in The Sims 4 with the Cats & Dogs expansion pack and debug objects from there.

To build these, you will have to use a few basic build cheats ?moveobjects, debug objects, show hidden objects, the resize objects key and of course the ALT and 9/0 keys to get the precise placing.

Let us just begin by saying this method is not perfect. But it is one solution for players who just want different d?cor in their Sims 4 saves without resorting to CC or mods.

Right, let’s build some Sims 4 bunk beds.

Build Sims 4 bunk beds with debug objects

For this method, we will go through the easiest tutorial for Sims 4 bunk beds. It involves using debug objects form The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs.

Once you have decorated your room, make a copy of the bed you want to turn into a ?bunk?. Make sure you have turned on the moveobjects cheat.

Hold the copy of the second bed directly over the bottom bunk and use the 9 key to move the top bunk up into the air.

With hiddenobjects and debug objects turned on, filter by packs and use the ** DEBUG ** search function to find the ladder from  The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs expansion. It does not look like a ladder, it looks like this.

Place the ladder next to the bed and size it down using the ] to size it down. Then use the 9 key to move the ladder up into position a shown below.

To create the posts that hold the bed up, you can use one of the pole-looking objects in the Sims 4 base game. Size them down and place using the ALT key. Some beds might require stacking the poles on top of each other to get them to reach to the top.

If you do not build often, it will take a bit of practice getting this right. Once you have cracked it, it can be a lot of fun. You will need to play test the placement of the poles and ladder to be sure your Sims can still use the bed.
