Ever since The Sims 4 launched over six years ago, the ability to create ? or at least substantially edit and refine ? the game’s worlds has been very high on many players? wish lists.
The Sims 3 had this ability, but the fourth edition of the popular simulation franchise did away with the feature, much to the dismay of the player base.
But players have been finding creative ways to enhance or change worlds and neighbourhoods in The Sims 4 ever since it launched, largely thanks to the amazing modders who share their creations with the community.
One popular mod, the T.O.O.L mod by TwistedMexi, even allows you to edit the exterior of apartment buildings by changing its windows and doors.
But the ability to customise worlds in The Sims 4 is about to go to the next level? out of this world if you?ll let us persist with that terrible pun from the headline.
Create and edit Sims 4 worlds with this new mod
Recently, The Sims Plus aka Arnie Sims, shook things up a little when they launched the Brookheights Open World mod. But if you thought that was impressive, sit tight.
With early access launching in the coming days, The Sims Plus World Edit mod will allow players to create their own world in The Sims 4.
Built off the back of the same framework that helped construct Brookheights, The Sims 4 World Edit mod looks seriously impressive.
In the walkthrough trailer shared by Arnie Sims this week, we saw a glimpse of what will be possible with this mod. Players can construct roads, interactive buildings (rabbit holes, essentially), add bodies of water, create their own ‘missions’ or story quests (like in the Brookheights mod) and so much more.

Want a Lochness Monster in the body of water you just created in The Sims 4 with your World Edit mod? You can have that, too.

The level of customisation seen in the trailer is extraordinary. There are too many features to mention, so we highly recommend you check out the reveal video.
If you would like early access to the Sims 4 World Edit mod by Arnie, you can check out their Patreon page. You’ll also find details one some of their other mods, like the Brookheights mod, the Pro Build Mod and the stunning Better World Maps mod.
We cannot wait to take this mod for a test drive ourselves to see just what might be possible, especially when it is paired with the T.O.O.L mod.
