The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack will be released on 5 June 2020. The official gameplay trailer was released on Tuesday and the date for the gameplay livestream set as Thursday. Yes, this Thursday – 21 May 2020 at 18:00 GMT.
The stream will look at everything in the new Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack, from CAS to build/buy and, of course the gameplay. The Sims 4 team will also reveal some of the upcoming content for base game players. We already know that one of those updates is ladders, but there’s been a lot of other speculation that it could also include things like cars and perhaps even an update for babies in The Sims 4.
Before we get to the deep dive, though, the gameplay trailer has revealed some new bits and pieces.
The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion gameplay trailer details
Here are some key gameplay additions that stand out from The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle gameplay trailer.
Dumpster whoohoo
Was this ever not going to be a thing? It’s been confirmed that this will be part of The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion.
Solar panels, wind turbines and self sustainable energy
Something we already knew was coming , but we now have a bit more details. Kinda. Sims can choose alternative power resources in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle, ranging from wind turbines to solar panels – going ?off grid? takes on a whole new meaning. Sims might choose to gather their own water with a dew collector too.
Community gardens, vertical gardens and hydro planters
Through the Neighbourhood Action Plan, Sims can vote on what they want to do with the spaces in their neighbourhood. These range from funding green initiatives, supporting self-sufficiency, or ?encouraging free love?.
You can set up a community space in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle and set up a shared garden, a maker space, or a marketplace for everyone.
Ladders inside and outside
Ladders won?t just be coming to The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion, they will come to the Sims 4 base game in a free update before launch. We’ve already seen what they will look outside, but now we have a glimpse of them on the inside.
Fizzy juice
We don’t quite know what that will do to Sims though. Will poorly skilled Sims put others? health at risk like they might do with pufferfish?
Two new careers: Civil designer career and freelance crafter
Civil designers have to fix up the town – kind of like the conservationist career in The Sims 4 Island Living. There’s also a new freelance career in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion. Become a fizzy juicer, furniture maker, or a candlemaker.
Hydro planters and new craft tables
Aren?t these just too cute? The craft tables will help sell all those home made goodies.
Upcycled furniture
How cute are these? We don’t know all the details about how to craft these yet, but they are adorable. Sims might be able to sell their second-hand furniture online ? much like they will with the upcoming knitting stuff pack.
Eating insects
The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion will introduce an insect farm with adds new bugs and gameplay. While toddlers and children can play with grubs and crickets, bombardier beetles provide biofuel for the power generator. Or, if you?re feeling adventurous, treat your Sims to a healthy, crunchy, protein-filled meal
What we?d still like to know about The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle
How many lots
We had a wild theory that it might be a one-lot open world, but we?re not sure that’s the case. We now know for sure that there are three neighbourhoods.
What this lab meat thing is
Seriously, what is it?
Is death by flies making a comeback
In the trailer we saw a Sims covered in flies and having what looked like a terrible day.
