Sims 4 My Wedding Stories: New world not loading? Here’s a fix to try

sims 4 wedding stories world not loading bug

If you cannot get the new Sims 4 My Wedding Stories world to load, there is a simple fix... and it might be one of the few buggy things that is not part of the pack itself.

After being delayed by a week and despite still being full of bugs, The Sims 4: My Wedding Stories has been released.

There are many reports about the bugs surrounding the actual wedding, but some players cannot even get into the world to experience those new bugs for themselves.

We have got to cut EA some slack here since the bug seems to be caused by mods rather than the new Sims 4 My Wedding Stories Game Pack, but it is frustrating nonetheless.

Many players noticed a game update rolling out alongside the release of the new My Wedding Stories Game Pack, but there did not seem to be any official announcement by The Sims  team about this.

Sims players know all too well that the beloved mods folder is usually the first port of call for troubleshooting after updates, but you?d be forgiven to think you were imagining that update (we certainly did).

Fix for The Sims 4 world Tartosa not loading

Reports about the new world that was released with My Wedding Stories, Tartosa, not loading have come largely from PC players. So, it goes without saying that this possible fix only applies if you are experiencing the issue, and you are using PC as your platform.

Installing the new Sims 4 Game Pack works without issue and if you do not care about playing in the world right away, you might not even notice until you try to access it.

When trying to get to Tartosa from the neighbourhoods screen ? with or without moving in a Sim ? the world just sort of hangs as a blank screen. Menus remain accessible, and saving and exiting the game works just fine.

But no matter how many times you try ? including starting a brand new Sims 4 Save ? all that players see is a blank screen.

Luckily, one of the fixes for this issue is an easy one. We all know we that it is recommend that we remove our mods when installing new content for the first time, but life is too short.

While this might not apply to all players, fixing the issue of Tartosa not loading simply needs you to move your temporarily move your mods folder, reload the game, clear the cache and then pop the folder right back where it belongs.

Some players also reported that only moving our beloved Take Objects Off Lot (TOOL mod by TwistedMexi), reloading and then adding the mod back in also solves the issue. A useful trick if you have a large mods folder that might take some time to move. If the turning it off and on trick does not work for you, you should check that your CC and mods are up to date, too.

If none of that works, you might be in for the good old troubleshooting of finding broken Sims 4 CC and mods. If that does not work either, or you play on console where you can’t even use mods or CC, the EA Help Forums are all that’s left.

EA claimed that they would not be able to release the pack in Russia without changes to the My Wedding Stories pack’s marketing because of “federal law” and suggested they were taking a moral stance in support of LGBTQ Simmers.

Russian Simmers were quick to point out that was not the case. EA reversed their decision, with The Sims 4 My Wedding Stories Game Pack was released globally a week after originally scheduled.
