We have moved on swiftly from the MAC Cosmetics disappointment and straight onto one of our favourite past-times: Sims 4 pack speculations.

It’s been a while, but we finally have some clues about what the next Sims 4 pack will be thanks to some cryptic messages from the Sim Gurus. And can we just take a wee moment to say, we kinda told you so?

When The Sims 4: Snowy Escape expansion pack was released last year, we pondered the possibility of a very obvious hint in the form of the paranormal plates object that came with the pack. That expansion pack also featured an object called the “High Spirits Bar” – you know – spirits, ghosts… geddit?

And while it has not been confirmed officially by The Sims 4 just yet, some of the cryptic Tweets sent by the Gurus on Monday make it seem pretty obvious that the next pack will something to do with the paranormal. Plumbella might even see Justice for Bonehilda at last.

Let’s take a look at a few of these, starting with one of the most obvious ones… there’s literally a ghost in it… so we’ll hedge our bets.

Add to that the friendly forest spirits that also came with Snowy Escape expansion and we’re quite willing to say we are certain this is something spooky.

We also know that Happy Haunts was the runner up to Nifty Knitting in the community voted-stuff pack last year. The previous community pack vote, which was won by Laundry Day, also featured ideas that would eventually become the Eco Lifestyle expansion pack.

The Gurus also shared a bunch of video parts (all from the same video, clearly) which make up one whole video. The ghosties look pretty friendly, though.

When the videos are pieced together and the parts become a whole, the date becomes clear. The video text says “all will be revealed January 12th” – which probably means a trailer release with additional details.

What we know about a potential new ghostly Sims 4 pack

Let’s start with what we do not know for sure. We do not know whether this ghostly apparition will be a stuff pack or a game pack.

Not to go around speculating too much, but we’re guessing this will be a game pack. While Happy Haunts losing out to Nifty Knitting in the Stuff Pack voting stakes was disappointing, it might just be one of the best things to have happened in hindsight.

It means that a paranormal pack can be given the TLC it deserves in a game pack and (hopefully) ghosts will finally be given the love they deserve, too.

  • Seance Table & Spirit Board
  • Psychic Freelancer Carer
  • Grim Reaper Freelancer Career
  • Haunted House Lot Trait
