Sims 4 new Paranormal Stuff Pack: Bonehilda returns, new career and more

Update: Catch up with the official video trailer and some screenshots from the Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack over here.

You might recall that last year, a yet-to-be-named Sims 4 Stuff Pack ‘leaked’ on Origin. One Simmer went ahead and bought it, before the pack vanished. That Simmer was refunded and in the wake of the ‘leak’, there was much speculation whether the pack was hinting at something romantic.

But we now know that was all about The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack, set to be released on 26 January 2021. The video trailer was revealed on Tuesday with a base game update also set to be released ahead of the pack, as confirmed by the Sim Guru Conor ahead of the trailer’s premiere.

We do know that the new pack will feature a character called Guidry the Ghost or Claude Ren? Duplantier Guidry, if you want to use his full name.

Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack details

The Simmer who bought the unnamed pack last year shared some interesting details on The Sims forums, ahead of the official trailer reveal. Because of the accidental purchase, some of the details of the pack have been unlocked.

It has now been confirmed that the screenshots were indeed legit (not that we had much doubt…).

The pack seems to follow the trend of recent stuff packs, with a far more substantial offering that what players might expect from a Stuff Pack. Bonehilda, a favourite NPC of many players, will reportedly make a return (although, that could happen in The Sims 4 base game update ahead of the pack’s release, too).

Here’s the description that was ‘leaked’ on Origin and later confirmed to be the final draft.

Light the candles and prepare the rituals to appease your ghastly new roommates in The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack. Spectral guests cause mischief and mayhem on Haunted House Lots, but Sims can perform a seance, befriend Guidry the Ghost, become a Paranormal Investigator and restore order.

Meet Ghastly Roommates: Your new-to-you home might be home to some else, too, if it’s one of the new Haunted House Lots! Appease the mischievous spectres to relax in serenity and let them run amok for scares day and night.

Cleanse Your Home: If you want to send your new roommates packing, Guidry the Ghost is Happy to advise you. Remove accursed objects, performance a seance, commune with the dead and receive gifts from spectres. You can even summon Bonehilda the skeletal maid.

Calm the Spirits: Master the Medium skill and impress Guidry to get a Paranormal Investigator license! Once you’re ready, take on some freelance gigs to expel unwelcome visitors for other Sims. With spooky activity on the rise, it’s up to your Sims to put a stop to it.

A Paranormal career has been part of The Sims franchise ever since the first edition, but this will be its first appearance in The Sims 4. Should the ‘leaked’ details be the final draft, there are plenty of elements from the would-be Happy Haunts Stuff Pack which won’t come as a surprise to players. What the base game update might bring in addition to this remains to be seen.
