The Sims 4 on Steam launched at EA Play

The popular EA simulation franchise, The Sims, have launched its Sims 4 collection on the Steam platform.

Electronic Arts announced that The Sims 4 – and all the game packs – can now be purchased on Steam. The announcement was made during The Sims 4 EA Play Showcase on Thursday.

Until now, the PC version of The Sims 4 was available only on EA’s own platform, Origin. EA further confirmed that EA Access is will come to Steam in August. The subscription service includes free access to The Sims 4 and some of its DLC.

EA will also move some of its other titles, including Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, FIFA 20, and other titles to the Steam platform.

The games launched with a sale offer for Steam users. The Sims 4 base game is discounted at 50% while expansion packs (except Eco Lifestyle) are 30% off and Stuff Packs discounted by 20%.

Moving The Sims 4 from Origin to Steam

Players can move their Sims 4 collection across from Origin to Steam, however, you’ll have to buy The Sims 4 base game in order to so. According to Games Radar, this was confirmed by a an EA Representative. Gamers wishing to transfer their collection to Steam will get access to their entire collection of DLC – provided they make the initial base game purchase.
