The Sims 5 trailer: Don’t be fooled by spoofs ahead of EA Play
There have been a lot of rumours about The Sims 5 and when it might be released. It’s been six years since the much-loved simulation franchise released The Sims 4 and fans are wondering what might come next. There have been spoof trailers posted to YouTube.
Back in February 2020, EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson made some comments which raised a few eyebrows. He said in an interview with CNN:
?As Maxis continues to think about The Sims for a new generation across platforms and a cloud-enabled world, you should imagine that while we will always stay true to our inspiration, escape, creation, self-improvement motivation, that this notion of social interaction and competition? will start to become part of the ongoing The Sims experience in the years to come.?
The Sims community (us included) love to speculate, so there’s been a lot of speculation about The Sims 5. Many have hoped that EA Play will offer a big reveal Sims 5 trailer, but that’s unlikely to happen.
The Sims 5 will not be announced at EA Play 2020
The event was forced to go digital this year and has since been postponed to 18 June (Thursday). The Sims team further confirmed that there will not be any announcements about The Sims 5 happening at EA Play. On Twitter, the team said:
“Just a heads up, Simmers, The Sims won?t announce any new products at EA PLAY Live, but you can tune in for a moment with @SimGuruLyndsay & lots of exciting news from our other EA games!”
We also know for sure that The Sims 4 will be with us until at least October this year – with a game pack and a stuff pack still to come following the release of the Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion.
