We’re right at the sharp end of Euro 2024 on Wednesday, as the Netherlands and England go toe-to-toe to complete the line up for Sunday night’s final in Berlin.

Semi-final: Netherlands vs England – 21.00
It’s the second Euro 2024 semi-final on Wednesday night, as the Netherlands and England face off for a place in the final.
The pair go up against each other in Dortmund with a spot in the showpiece at stake, with both having scrapped their way through the competition so far.
Gareth Southgate’s English pulled it out of the fire yet again in their penalty shootout win over Switzerland last Saturday.
A save first up from keeper Jordan Pickford ensured a perfect set of five from his team-mates was enough, as late substitute Trent Alexander-Arnold slotted the decisive kick.
Bukayo Saka was also on target to atone for his Euro 2020 final miss, having also been the man to fire his side level on 80 minutes, with the Swiss having bundled in via Breel Embolo at the other end just five minutes earlier.
It continued a theme of dogged determination for Southgate and Co, as they look to go one better than their heartbreaking runners-up finish to Italy at Wembley Stadium last time out.
Extra-time was also necessary in the Round of 16, after Jude Bellingham’s last-gasp equalizer set things up for underpowered captain Harry Kane to head in the winner.
The Dutch certainly had to do it the hard way in their quarter-final on Wednesday, after going in behind at the break thanks to Samet Akaydin’s header for Turkiye.
But Stefan de Vrij did likewise in the 70th minute, before an own goal from Mert Muldur six minutes later sealed what had looked an unlikely berth in the semis for large parts of the Berlin contest.
No such trouble for the Oranje in their Round of 16 tie, as they sailed through 3-0 against plucky Romania.
Cody Gakpo opened the scoring midway through the first half, with Donyell Malen notching twice in the latter stages to seal a deserved success.
They had earlier advanced from a tricky Group D by virtue of their status as one of the best third-placed finishers.
An opening win over Poland ensured a draw with France sealed a four-point tally, with a helter-skelter 3-2 defeat to eventual pool winners Austria leaving no lasting damage.
England procured just a point more than Ronald Koeman’s side but it was enough to send them through top of Group C.
Like the Dutch, they won their opener with Slovenia by the odd goal to take the pressure off, before often-painful performances against Denmark and Serbia were enough to pick up the precious couple more points needed.
