Guidry the Ghost: Special interactions in the Paranormal Stuff Pack

The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack live stream took players through a preview of what to expect with the upcoming pack, set to be released on 26 January 2021.

It’s the first DLC for the year and it looks pretty promising. The pack features a new Haunted House Lot Type, welcomes back Bonehilda and features a new Paranormal Investigator career, amongst other things.

The Paranormal career has been part of The Sims franchise ever since the first edition of the game. With The Sims 4, the route to becoming a Paranormal Investigator features a curious new NPC called  Claude Ren? Duplantier Guidry, or Guidry the Ghost for short.

During the Paranormal Stuff Pack Live Stream, Sim Gurus showed off a bit of the gameplay involving Guidry. A gentleman ghost, Guidry will help your Sim segue into the Paranormal Investigator career.

If you are wondering if your Sims can Woohoo with Guidry the Ghost, the answer is: yes, yes they can. There are no ghost babies in this pack, though, as Sim Guru Conor noted. But we assume that, just like having a baby with Father Winter, your Sims can have a baby with Guidry. With that out the way, let’s move on to more serious stuff, shall we?

Becoming a Paranormal Investigator with Guidry’s guidance

With apologies to Sim Guru Rad for the cropping, the screenshot below shows the special interactions your Sim can have with Guidry the Ghost.

Sims 4 Paranormal Guidry Interactions

Guidry comes with a whole range of special interactions to help your Sim through all the scary stuff. To get the Paranormal Investigator licence from Guidry the Ghost, your Sim will have to max out the new Medium skill.

Options range from the rather menial “Who are you” and “Why are you here” to the somewhat more informative “What’s the deal with Spectres” and, of course, the option to put yourself forward as a Paranormal Investigator.

The new Paranormal Investigator career is a freelance gig-economy kinda vibe, but it is an active career, meaning you’ll get to join your Sim on their paranormal adventures.

You can also ask Guidry how to become less Scared – the new emotion added in the January base game update. We’re no Guidry, but we can tell you one thing: Don’t cheat to become Scared and definitely don’t cheat to become Terrified because the game will judge you and punish you, as we recently found out.
