EA Korea recently revealed a new promotional video featuring the multi-talented star, HwaSa. The Sims 4 has previously worked with them, but this latest video is quite interesting.
Called HwaSa’s 2021 Untact Runway Fashion Show and published on the official Electronic Arts Korea YouTube page, the video shows some interesting gameplay, which some players believe could hint at future content.
In the video, HwaSa reveals a Look Book with different Sims ? including vampires, aliens and even pets – walking what appears to be a catwalk in front of a cheering Sims.
Most of the items featured in the video already exist in The Sims 4, but there are some things worth noting.
The most interesting part is the text that appears at the bottom of the promotional video. “Actual Gameplay” is visible – all while Sims are posing and strutting their stuff on the catwalk and posing.
In the introduction to the video, according to the translated captions anyway, mention is made of The Sims 4 Spring/Summer 2021 Collection (with HwaSa). And we must stress that the auto-translations aren’t always consistent or reliable.
Some of what is seen in the trailer is already possible in The Sims 4. The freelance photographer career includes some element of getting Sims to pose for photos, but there is at least one scene in the video where Sims look like they are ?putting on a show?, so to speak.
Additionally, there are more than a few situations where there are more than 20 Sims visibly present in the ?fashion room?. At present, the game limits the number of Sims players can have on a lot, although this can be increased by using mods.
Some players are also wondering about the possibility of fairies being added to The Sims 4. One of the models, dressed in some sparkly clothing – the kind of stuff a fairy might wear – is referred to as a fairy by HwaSa.
Fairies do not currently exist as a life state in The Sims 4, yet all the other occults mentioned by HwaSa do. But the model is also wearing the fairy make-up that came with the Spooky Stuff pack, so it might just be a reference to the type of make-up being worn.
Of course, this could simply be us over analysing what might just be a straight-forward promotional video. Beyond the glamour, the video had a strong emphasis on how players can explore diversity and being gender neutral in The Sims 4 and much of the video seemingly centres around a campaign by EA Korea, which appears to be some sort of competition.
Interestingly, though, the Catwalk Hobby is something that has been featured in The Sims Freeplay before. But The Sims Freeplay and The Sims 4 have no crossover in terms of gameplay.
Other players have also noted that it’s actually just a bit of advertising which is part of a mutually beneficial campaign between EA Korea and HwaSa.
Sims 4 Players do have some new content to look forward to this week, though with the franchise’s 21s anniversary gift set to be revealed on 25 February. Although, what that might be, nobody knows just yet.
