Sims 4 another new pack speculation: Farming…finally?

Oh boy. The new Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack has not even been released yet but here we are already speculating about what lies ahead this year or what the next expansion or game pack might be.

For the longest time, players have wanted a proper Sims 4 farming pack. There have been fake leaks leading to much disappointment, but we also believe that there are some reasons to be hopeful of a farming pack coming to the game in the future.

No least because Sim Guru Frost said last year that the team is very much aware of the fact that players desperately want a farming pack.

There are also cows just chilling in Brindleton Bay and sheep hanging out in Windenburg, amongst many other things.

We must just prefix this once again by saying what follows is merely speculation ? but we also know that The Sims team love to drop hints. You know, like the Paranormal Plates that came with The Sims 4 Snowy Escape and now there’s a Paranormal Stuff Pack coming?

The Sims 4: Farming hints or just Sims being odd?

Recently, while poking around in Live Mode, we noticed that a Sim was reading a specific book rather obsessively. In itself, that obviously doesn’t mean much. But, if you dig a little deeper, things become a little bit more interesting.

The book in question, called Point Farmer No More: The Downfall of Grant Rodiek, has been part of The Sims 4 for a long time. It’s a reference to Sim Guru Grant and is a follow-up to a book in The Sims 3 titled: Point Farmer: the Story of Grant Rodiek.

The description reads: Grant Rodiek falls in love with a Corgi named Peaches, and neglects to farm points.???

Sims 4 Farming Book Reading

Obviously, this could just be Sims being Sims, but you might recall that last year, there was similarly obsessive reading of the book called Orbital Pudding, ahead of the release of the much-maligned Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu pack.

We do also know that Arnie Sims is working on a Sims 4 Farming expansion mod, so maybe somebody is sneaking in paying homage to that upcoming creation.

There are also a few new jobs listed on the EA portal, with the Maxis studio recently listing adverts for a Gameplay/UI Engineer and a Character Review Artist. Neither of these make a specific mention to farming-related requirements, so it really could be for anything.

But hey, what’s the fun in Sims being silly if we can’t veer off into some wild speculation. For now, all we know for sure is that the first Sims 4 DLC of 2021 will be the Paranormal Stuff Pack, which will be released on 26 January… we can’t wait to dig into the possible hidden hints buried in there.
