The Sims 4 base game will be updated to include a new emotion ahead of the release of the new Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff pack.
The game’s first DLC of 2021 was officially confirmed on Tuesday with a reveal trailer and the live stream for the Paranormal pack is set to follow on 22 January.
Base game updates usually follow a week prior to the release of a new pack, so players might be in for a treat before then.
Sim Guru Conor, one of the game designers who worked on the Paranormal Stuff Pack, revealed that a new emotional state will be added to the base game in an update.

Sim Guru Conor added that over 60 buffs have been converted to ‘scared?, adding that anything that had scared or phobia in the name has likely been converted.
This is likely to include things like thunderstorms, for which Sims currently get a ?tense? moodlet.
For the pack specifically, Sim Guru Conor said that there will be a new Reward Trait for this pack that influences the Scared emotion.
The new Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack will include the return of NPC fan-favourite, Bonehilda as well as a new Paranormal Investigator career, a new Haunted House Lot Trait and more.
