Sims 4 How To Elope To Destination World

The September update for The Sims 4 base game added the option to elope to destination worlds.

Sims 4 Romance Wedding Planner Stuff Pack Speculation

That new interaction, as well as some playful response following a recent leak on Origin, has some Simmers wondering whether a romance or wedding pack might be coming to the game soon.

But the elope interaction has been confusing a few players (us included). While the emphasis has been on allowing Sims to elope to a destination world, the new elope interaction in The Sims 4 is actually a bit broader than that.

Getting engaged in The Sims 4 before eloping to a destination world

First things first, you have to make sure your Sims actually like each other quite a lot. How you achieve that is none of our business.

Once your Sims are all loved up, you will see the option to propose appear in the interaction menu. Sims will get engaged to each other through this interaction.

Elope to a destination in The Sims 4 after getting engaged

Once your Sims are engaged, the elope option will appear on the interaction menu. You might think that using the interaction after the update will result in Sims romantically sneaking away to get married. But eloping to a destination world in The Sims 4 does not work like that.

Sims 4 Elope Immediately

If you want your Sims to get married in a destination world setting, though, you will have to make sure that they have travelled there first before you choose the ?Elope Immediately? interaction.

This interaction was not possible in vacation worlds before, but the terminology is causing a bit of confusion.

If you choose to ?elope immediately? after your Sims get engaged but they are just standing around at home, they will simply get married right there and then.

The difference between the elope and plan a wedding event is that the elope interaction doesn?t require your Sims to go through all the rigmarole of having to hire a caterer that will only get on their nerves or try to get everyone to sit together instead of just bobbing their heads before the clock runs out.

In both cases, Sims will get married immediately. So “planning” the event is just the part where you invite guests and hire Sims for the required roles. Elope immediately quite obviously happens, err, immediately. Just without all that faffing.
