sims 4 base game update june patch 2020

Sims 4 June patch: Delayed to 3 June

The much-anticipated Sims 4 June patch has been delayed to 3 June. Michael Duke, one of the Sim Gurus, made the announcement on Twitter. The patch was due to be released on Tuesday but has been delayed.

The patch will be one of the biggest the Sims 4 base game has ever had and is likely to impact all custom content and mods. Amongst other things, the patch will include ladders and free placing of windows and doors in build-buy mode.

While no official reason what given on the delay, it’s assumed that the delay formed part of Blackout Tuesday. Blackout Tuesday is a wide-ranging social media movement, where users do not post their usual content. This is seen as a way of freeing up the time usually dedicated to social media for people to educate themselves on the Black Lives Matter movement.

It came after the death of George Floyd who, on 25 May, was killed when Minneapolis police officer was kneeling on his neck for eight minutes.

The Sims later sent out a Tweet in support of the Black Lives Matter movement

Another Electronic Arts title, Madden, also delayed a scheduled event earlier in the week – the celebration of 21 years of Madden.

In EA’s official statement, they said that, amongst other things, they will be donating $1 million to organizations dedicated to the fight for racial justice in the U.S. and against discrimination around the world.
