We’re not sure what it means, but one of the guilty pleasures of The Sims is the many different ways in which unsuspecting Sims can die. And when we say ?can die?, we mean the player’s active pursuit of death.
Whenever there’s a new Sims pack, ?any new deaths? is often one of the first questions players asked.
The most recent Sims 4 expansion, Snowy Escape, treated players to not just one but two new deaths. Vending machine and falling off the mountain.
For review purposes (that’s what we are telling ourselves anyway), we recently had to pursue one of these. As it turns out, getting Sims to fall off a mountain and die is quite difficult with this pack.
Sims 4 Snowy Escape: Death on Mt. Komorebi
For the purposes of this demo, Don Lothario was selected as the Sim to be pushed to his limits. Not gonna lie, there probably was a bit of underlying loathing after the whole Bella Goth thing.
Hiking up Mt. Komorebi can be quite challenging – and we’re not just talking about figuring out how to get the party started.
The weather is grim even with Grim doesn’t show up. Sims cannot just go galivanting up the mountain, though. They do need a certain level of rock climbing skill to make it to the summit (or at least to attempt to summit).
The most likely chance for death comes in the third and final climb of the Mt. Komorebi excursion.
Most Sims, even those with the lowest level of rock climbing skill required to make it to the top, will slip and fall, landing safely, but injured. On a few rare occasions, they won’t be so lucky.
In our experiment, Don was lucky. Despite refusing him bathroom access, nearly starving him to death and making him climb up and down the mountain a few times, he lived to tell the tale. Well, until we used MCCC to get rid of him that is.
If you have a sort of morbid curiosity about this type of death, though, you’re not missing much. It doesn’t come with any special effects or dramatic scenes. It’s just a Sim falling and not getting back up. Which, by some Sims standards anyway, is actually quite meek. But perhaps we need a bit of meek, huh.
