The Sims 4 Tiny Living: How to build a functional one tile bathroom

sims 4 split level tutorial cheat tiny living tiles

The Sims 4 Tiny Living has arrived and it’s bags of fun.

Even if you’re a builder who loves to splash out on extravagant palatial builds, there’s something quite rewarding about getting cosy and stylish in a small space.

But how small can you go? Space comes at a premium in The Sims 4 Tiny Living.  The new lot type comes with three different tiers. Each of those comes with its own benefits and restrictions in terms of number of tiles.

The Sims 4 Tiny Living tile totals for each tier

  • A Tier 1 home allows you to have a maximum of 32 tiles.
  • A Tier 2 home allows you to have a maximum of 64 tiles.
  • A Tier 3 home allows you to have a maximum of 100 tiles.

You don’t quite realise just how many tiles you use until you try to build a home of just 32 tiles.

But who doesn?t love a challenge? Bathrooms are one of the bulkier rooms in The Sims, because the objects all need at least one tile of their own and room for your Sim to shimmy around. Well, unless you use a bit of the bb.moveobjects cheat magic.

YouTuber Simarchy has been all over this challenge, even going so far as building a 2×3 Tiny Home. That home includes a tiny single tile bathroom.

Now, before you think this is some kind of magic skills only reserved for those builds you see getting thousands of downloads, it’s not.

You will need to use the bb.moveobjects, as well as holding ALT when placing some of the objects and you?ll need to downsize the objects using Shift + [. You will also need the wall shower from the Discover University expansion pack.

With apologies to the poor Sim’s modesty, the screenshots below show our one tile bathroom in use. We were not able to make the bathroom functional with a door or an arch included, but if you want your Sim to have some privacy, you can place a curtain before demolishing the wall (final picture). This might require a bit more tweaking and prodding as it can cause some clipping – as is visible in the screenshot.

How to build a one tile bathroom in The Sims 4 Tiny Living

The video below offers a brief tutorial on how to build the room without the wall enclosing it.

To close off the bathroom, simply add the wall around the objects. Be warned, though: you do require a lot of patience and moving to get all objects to be functional.
