The February 2021 update for The Sims 4 not only added new content made by CC creators, it also added a load of clues about what we can expect from the game in the near future. The post-patch live stream also revealed that bunk beds will be coming to The Sims 4 base game in an update expected to be released in late March 2021.
The tuning files for the update revealed a reference to ?dust? as noted by one modder on Twitter. It seemed a bit more nuanced than simply a fix for the Robo Vacuum as mentioned in the February 2021 patch notes.
The update added references to “Kits” – a sort of micro-pack that looks set to hit the Sims in the near future. The update added full descriptions for the “Kits” – and one of them includes…well… dusting. All kits note that The Sims 4 base game is required to play.
Sims 4 Kits are described in game code, and we quote, as: “mini bits of content designed to enhance the way you play”. These are prefixed with the SP variant – usually reserved for Stuff Packs and while they are labelled as such, an additional “sub type” pack called “Kit” has been added.
These Sims 4 Kits also follow a numerical sequence with Throwback Fit labelled SP20, Country Kitchen SP21 and Bust the Dust SP22.
The references to these Sims 4 Kits appear mainly in the UI (user interface) section of the game code and include screenshots and pack shots in the files. The descriptions of the Sims 4 Kits as well as some of their features and the available images are listed below as taken from the game code.
At least one of the Sims 4 Kits – Bust the Dust – contains a new aspiration. The Sims confirmed on Twitter that more details about the new Kits will be revealed on 2 March 2021, ahead of the next base game update which is scheduled for “late March”. Below follows the details extracted from the game code after the latest update. No time was given for when on 2 March further details would be revealed, though.
