Sims 4 update will bring previously Seasons exclusive calendar to the base game

The Sims 4 base game will be getting its own calendar. Well, it’s the calendar that came with the Seasons Expansion Pack, but you know. The feature will be added through a free update ahead of the release of the upcoming Sims 4 Cottage Living Expansion. Players will see work and school schedules, birthdays and festivals.

Existing calendars, for players who bought the Seasons Expansion Pack, will be updated with some new features, including a filter to sort events and the option to favourite events you enjoy the most.

The calendar will still include content specific to The Sims 4: Seasons – like Holidays (including the ones you create yourself) and the Weather Report. Players who own packs that include festivals will also be able to read the flyer for the event straight from the calendar.

This was revealed during the deep dive live stream for The Sims 4: Cottage Living, which was hosted by the Sim Gurus on Wednesday.

Players who only have The Sims 4 base game will get to use the calendar for creating events like weddings, birthdays and other parties, though.

While the date for the July update was not confirmed at the time of writing, The Sims 4: Cottage Living is set to be released on 22 July 2021, with the base game update due to drop before that.

The base game update will also include a new hair style and new group activities like cooking and gardening together, with child Sims allowed to join in the fun. A new pond tool will also be added with the same update. An actual pond tool, that is. Not just the pretend pond tool we’ve all been using.
