While some gamers are still sulking after the disappointment of the 20th-anniversary hot tub farce, others will be getting just a little bit excited.
It appears that the next expansion pack in The Sims 4 franchise is in its final stages of production.
A new job listing appeared on the EA Careers website and two of those include a vacancy for voice editors to help with an upcoming expansion pack for The Sims 4.
The full advert on the site reads as follows:
The Maxis Studio of Electronic Arts is seeking a Voice Editor to join the Audio team and help ship an upcoming expansion pack for The Sims 4.
The ideal candidate should have experience delivering final quality audio either from a brief or starting with placeholder sounds in software. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within technical limitations to deliver quality audio are essential. It’s also important that the candidate understands the role of audio in video games; and can create final content to best effect the player experience.
In 2019, a similar listing was posted before the announcement of the Discover University expansion pack.
There’s no suggestion as to what the expansion pack will be or when it will be announced, but if previous release dates are anything to go by, it’s likely that the next major expansion will be revealed at EA Play 2020.
Simmers already know that they will be getting a DIY/Knitting inspired expansion sometime this year, as voted for by the community.
That’s more likely to only appear later in the year, though, and is not in the final stages yet. But following a recent fan survey which featured questions relating to snow adventures, at the top of the list of speculation is a sort of alpine-resort-vacation pack mix. Other Simmers remain hopeful of a farming expansion, something which as been on the top of many’s wishlist for some time.
